The Max Planck–NTU Singapore Centre for Biocultural Worlding (CBCW) is inviting applications for two Curatorial Research and Practice Fellowships. Based at NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore, the fellows will contribute to an interdisciplinary research environment exploring biocultural worlding through curatorial and artistic research, legal inquiry, and diverse knowledge traditions. The positions combine independent research with collaborative projects addressing biological, cultural, and epistemic diversity.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct independent and collaborative curatorial and artistic research on biocultural worlding.
Develop research methodologies that connect curatorial practice, artistic research, and interdisciplinary inquiry.
Collaborate with researchers, artists, institutions, and knowledge-holding communities.
Contribute to the development of new curatorial research protocols and toolkits.
Present research through exhibitions, publications, public programmes, and institutional partnerships.
Support the Centre’s mission of advancing collaborative approaches to stewardship, cultural diversity, and knowledge exchange.

Requirements

PhD in Curatorial Studies, Art History, Museum Studies, Visual Anthropology, Cultural Studies, or a related humanities discipline.
Minimum of three years of postdoctoral or professional experience for the Senior Research Fellow position.
Strong background in curatorial practice, contemporary art, visual culture, or cultural anthropology.
Excellent record of publications, exhibitions, creative projects, or other research outputs.
Outstanding academic writing skills in English.
Ability to work independently and within an international interdisciplinary team.
Critical understanding of contemporary curatorial and museological discourse.
Research experience in Singapore and/or the Asia-Pacific region is considered an advantage.
