The Role
Aedes is seeking an Exhibition Manager to oversee the organisational planning and delivery of exhibitions addressing architecture and urban culture.
The successful candidate will manage exhibition projects from initial planning through installation, opening and public presentation. They will serve as the principal point of coordination between exhibiting partners, project participants, external contractors and Aedes’ internal teams.
Responsibilities
The Exhibition Manager will:
- Manage exhibition projects and oversee their organisational delivery
- Coordinate between exhibition partners, project participants and external companies
- Provide conceptual and technical guidance to exhibitors
- Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets
- Organise and manage exhibition installations
- Coordinate exhibition opening events
- Support the daily operation of exhibitions through gallery supervision
- Develop and deliver guided tours
- Prepare written materials for exhibition communications and public relations
- Collaborate closely with the Communications and Events teams
Experience and Knowledge
Applicants must have:
- At least three years of experience working with exhibitions
- Excellent spoken and written German
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Knowledge of current international developments in architecture and urban planning
- An understanding of the political, social and cultural contexts surrounding architecture and urban development
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat
- Familiarity with databases and content management systems
