Gallerie Splash Curatorial Fellowship 2026–27

The Gallerie Splash Curatorial Fellowship supports emerging curators developing thoughtful, rigorous and publicly relevant curatorial practices. Over six months, selected fellows will develop an exhibition through research, critical enquiry, dialogue and collaboration, culminating in a public exhibition in Delhi in June 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and refine a curatorial framework through research and critical enquiry.
Work with artists, communities and collaborators to develop the proposed exhibition.
Develop the exhibition design, scenography and visitor experience within the allocated space and budget.
Submit a complete exhibition proposal, curatorial note and exhibition design in April 2027.
Present the completed exhibition in Delhi in June 2027.
Submit a reflective report of up to 1,000 words in July 2027 documenting the project’s process, outcomes, impact and challenges.

Requirements

Master’s degree in art, design, architecture, art history, anthropology or a related field.
Sustained engagement with research, critical theory or cultural history.
A clearly articulated curatorial enquiry.
Ability to develop an exhibition through research, dialogue and collaboration.
One of the two fellowships is reserved for a current Master’s student or a collective whose members are currently pursuing Master’s degrees in a relevant field.
Applications are open to individuals and eligible collectives from varied academic, cultural and professional backgrounds.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to develop a feasible exhibition within the available time, space and budget.

Application

Applications must include all four components:

Curriculum vitae: Including education, curatorial experience, research interests, and relevant academic and professional engagements.
Letter of intent: Outlining the curatorial vision, proposed exhibition concept, central enquiry or context, relevance of the project, and interest in the fellowship.
Portfolio and writing samples: Previous curatorial projects accompanied by relevant curatorial notes, exhibition texts, essays, articles or research papers.
Two letters of recommendation: From individuals familiar with the applicant’s academic, curatorial or professional practice.

Applications may be submitted through an accessible Google Drive folder containing all required documents. The PDF or folder should be titled Full Name | Curatorial Fellowship 2026–27. View access must be enabled and the link must remain accessible throughout the selection period.

Applications will be assessed on the clarity and originality of the curatorial vision, research depth, relevance to contemporary cultural discourse, ability to collaborate, diversity and inclusivity, consideration of exhibition design and public experience, innovation, feasibility, and the ability to realise the project within the available resources.

Applicants wishing to apply for both the Curatorial Fellowship and the Art Writing Grant must submit separate applications for each programme.
