The University of Cambridge is seeking a Research Associate and Exhibition Project Curator for Between the Lines: Mapping Histories in the Margins, an exhibition scheduled to open at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in 2029.

The exhibition will explore histories of people and places in South Asia that have been lost, recovered, forgotten and remembered. Drawing on collections across the University of Cambridge Museums, it will consider how digital technologies can create new connections with these histories.

About the Project

The role is connected to Mapping Archaeological Heritage in South Asia (MAHSA), an Arcadia-funded project working to protect endangered archaeological and cultural heritage in the Indus River Basin of Pakistan and northwest India. MAHSA brings together historical maps, satellite imagery, published records, machine learning and discoveries on the ground to identify and assess sites at risk.

The appointee will contribute both research and exhibition work. This is one full-time role, held through two parallel 50% contracts reflecting its research and museum responsibilities.
