CCS Bard and Bard College’s Human Rights Project have announced that curator and cultural leader Sandra Terdjman has been named the 2026–27 Keith Haring Chair in Art and Activism.

Established in 2014, the initiative brings leading scholars, activists, and artists into an endowed faculty position to teach and conduct research within the CCS Bard graduate program and the undergraduate Human Rights Program.

Sandra Terdjman has spent two decades building platforms where artists, thinkers, and communities meet across borders and disciplines. She supports the role of arts and culture in society through organisations she co-founded, including KADIST, where she currently serves as Vice President; Council, which supported multidisciplinary projects at the crossroads of art, science, and civil society from 2013 to 2023; and AFIELD, an international network supporting artists and cultural practitioners whose social initiatives create long-term, tangible change within their communities, which she chairs.

Her recent curatorial work includes a 2025 public forum on transitional justice and systems change by artists at KANAL Centre Pompidou in Brussels, and Résidence Tallard, a new residency for ideas in Paris.

Terdjman is co-editor of Autonomous Agents: Artists on Human–Machine Interaction (Pacific, 2026), alongside Simon Castets, Taeyoon Choi, and Joseph del Pesco, and the forthcoming Artist-Led Transitional Justice (AFIELD and Mousse Publishing, 2027), with Taeyoon Choi and Chantal Wong.

She received the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award in 2019 and the Art Basel Visionary Award in 2025.
