The Swiss Architecture Museum is seeking a Director

The Swiss Architecture Museum (S AM) is the leading institution in the mediation of contemporary architecture in Switzerland.

S AM is seeking a Director to begin on the 1st of January 2016. With the support of a committed team, the successful candidate will define the museum’s orientation and develop a long-term focus for the museum’s content. They will curate exhibitions, position and represent the museum in public, and take responsibility for publications.

The successful candidate must have good connections, be highly familiar with Swiss architectural culture and also have excellent knowledge of the international architecture scene. Experience in the conception, planning and realisation of exhibitions, as well as in architecture mediation within the context of publications and public discourse, is expected.

They must be able to lead staff, to encourage and motivate them by means of task delegation, clear objectives and decision-making. While German and English are essential languages, skills in other national languages are advantageous.

The successful candidate will represent the museum and report to the Board of Trustees.
