Serpentine Galleries are some of Britain’s best loved galleries, attracting up to 1.2 million visitors in any year.  The Serpentine maintains free access for all visitors and offers innovative ways for people of all ages to engage with modern and contemporary art, architecture, design and performance through exhibitions, education and public programmes.

We are looking for an Exhibition Curator to work in close collaboration with the Head of Programmes, the Director and Co-Director, to ensure the optimal delivery of our art exhibitions, implementation of projects and annual architectural commission.  The Exhibition Curator is an integral part of the Serpentine team, ensuring the smooth running of the Galleries as well as promoting the Serpentine as one of the leading modern and contemporary galleries internationally.

This is a position that will suit a person with at least five years of relevant experience in a cultural or educational institution.  You should also have an outstanding knowledge of modern and contemporary art, architecture and theoretical positions relating to visual culture.  The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively both within a team and independently, excellent communication skills, be capable to multi-task while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.  You will also be able to demonstrate professional demeanour, diplomatic approach and excellence in scholarly writing and research.
