Somerset House is recruiting for two posts, the new role of Senior Exhibitions Managerto underpin our expanding exhibitions programme and an Exhibitions Assistant.
Across a series of gallery spaces, Somerset House already has a successful and diverse programme that looks at contemporary culture in different ways. Recent highlights have included Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore; Guy Bourdin; The Jam: About the Young Idea; Big Bang Data and a series of smaller free displays including Marc Quinn’s Broken Waves; Beard; The Return of the Rudeboy; the forthcoming Museum of Innocence.
The exhibitions department forms a key part of Somerset House’s extensive and increasing cultural offering, incorporating events with partners such as Photo London, the new London Design Biennale, performance, installations and creative workspace for artists and makers. 2016 sees a major season looking at Utopia.
Supporting the Director of Exhibitions the role of Senior Exhibitions Manager will lead the planning, budgeting, management of a wide-ranging exhibitions programme, with a team of three people. The candidate will need to demonstrate an extensive knowledge and experience in delivering exhibitions at a high level. The role of Exhibitions Assistantwill support the Manager and will suit a graduate with strong administration skills and some experience of organising exhibitions.
