henrymoore

Deadline: 4pm Thursday February 25, 2016.

The Curator will join the Foundation at an exciting time as we enter our next dynamic phase of development following the recent appointment of Director, Godfrey Worsdale, and Head of Henry Moore Collections & Exhibitions, Sebastiano Barassi. This year also sees the opening of our new archive and visitor facilities at Henry Moore Studios & Gardens, Perry Green, East Hertfordshire.

The Curator will work closely with the Head of Collections & Exhibitions to deliver a rich and varied worldwide programme of exhibitions, publications and events around the Foundation’s Henry Moore collections. As part of a small, dynamic team of curatorial, registrarial, archive and conservation colleagues, the Curator will coordinate the organisation of national and international exhibitions and scholarly events, initiate and edit publications, curate displays at Perry Green for the grounds and the Sheep Field Barn Gallery and oversee the care of the artist’s studios and home.

The successful candidate will be an experienced curator with a postgraduate degree in the history of art or museum studies and a good track record of exhibitions and publications, ideally with a focus on 20th century sculpture. The post-holder will have substantial experience of working with art collections and planning conservation in a museum or gallery environment. With a strong visual sense and good understanding of issues surrounding public sculpture, s/he will be expected to collaborate successfully with colleagues and professionals worldwide. Great flexibility and willingness to travel are essential. Fluency in a foreign language would be an advantage.

If you are interested in this position and, having read the job specification, you have the credentials to meet the requirements of the role, we would be delighted to receive an application from you. A recruitment pack and application form are available via the links in the right-hand menu.
