Senior Curator, Design

Location: National Museum Cardiff
35 hours per week
£24,523.91 – £31,143.17 per annum

We are looking for a Senior Curator to develop a new focus on modern and contemporary design at Amgueddfa Cymru, using your expertise in the field to enable the widest possible audience to understand and enjoy design through Amgueddfa Cymru’s outstanding collections.

You will have excellent knowledge of modern and contemporary design, and the desire and ability to communicate that knowledge to the widest possible audience. You will understand best practice in the curation, documentation and conservation of collections of applied art and design, and have an innovative and creative approach to their display and interpretation and to public engagement.

The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience, as well as excellent research and communication skills.

The ability to communicate in Welsh or a willingness to learn is desirable.
