
Senior Exhibitions Project Manager

The role
In November 2016 the Design Museum will open in its new home in Kensington. We will open with an influential and engaging programme of temporary exhibitions, including monographic and thematic exhibitions on every aspect of contemporary design and architecture. At this exciting time an opportunity has arisen to join the museum to project manage the delivery of its temporary exhibitions.
The Senior Exhibitions Project Manager will be managing large and complex exhibitions at the museum, ensuring the production and installation of every element of these projects is successfully delivered, to museum standards, on time and to budget. To this end the post holder will work closely with the Curators and external contractors, as well as a wide range of departments across the organisation, and additional external partners. They will also line manage the Project Coordinator and relevant volunteers, and provide additional support to the Exhibitions Team as required.
The person
You will be an expert communicator with extensive experience of delivering exhibitions on time and within budget and a proven track record of working with design teams and contractors bringing a display to life. You will have a collaborative working style and should be able to develop excellent working relationships with colleagues across the museum as well as key external contacts. You will be an individual with a great sense of independence, yet being able to lead a wide range of stakeholders through the project. A degree in History of Art and Design or in Museum Studies is desirable.
