Tate’s mission is to increase the public’s knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of art, by displaying a collection of some of the best modern and contemporary art the world has to offer. Since its opening in 2000, Tate Modern’s programme of major temporary exhibitions, collection displays, commissions, film programmes, live events and projects have developed in diversity, international scope and profile.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to be involved in everything from contributing to the acquisition of artworks for Tate’s collection with particular focus on Latin America, leading and managing project teams, supervising exhibition and collection display development and installation design, contributing texts and editorial supervision to a range of publications and managing budgets, while at the same time raising your own international profile and developing your career. As a member of the curatorial team at Tate Modern, you will support the senior management team and contribute to the overall vision of Tate.
You will be an experienced curator or specialist of modern and contemporary international art with a particular focus on Latin America, with significant exhibition making experience, a fluency in the issues surrounding collecting modern and contemporary art within a global museum context as well as an established network of contacts in the field. You will also be a first class communicator who can write for a variety of audiences.
