Daniel W. Dietrich Fellowship-Contemporary Art
The Philadelphia Museum of Art is currently seeking applicants for the Daniel W. Dietrich II Fellow in Contemporary Art. This two-year position focuses on the research, presentation, and associated curatorial activities surrounding a recent bequest of postwar works of art from Daniel W. Dietrich II. The Fellow will work under the supervision of the Department Head and closely with Contemporary Curators to plan and realize a number of installations, conduct object and exhibition research, and contribute to the documentation and scholarship on the Dietrich Contemporary Art gifts for the Museum’s records. As the fellowship is designed to provide professional training for emerging talent, the Fellow will also be fully integrated into the life and work of the department, as well as the Museum at large.
Qualified candidates will possess a Masters or Doctoral degree focusing on the History of Art after 1950 and/or contemporary curatorial practice. Candidates demonstrating an acute attention to detail, an ability to work collaboratively, and a keen interest in developing a career in museums are preferred. The Fellowship will run from September 6, 2016 through September 6, 2018 and is open to international candidates.
