Tate Enterprises Ltd. is the trading arm of Tate. Its main areas of operation are retailing on four sites and on-line, publishing, merchandise, picture library and licensing. Its commercial activities take place within the broader context of the gallery, with frequent interaction with gallery colleagues.

Tate’s book Publishing programme (spanning exhibition catalogues, illustrated children’s books and general books about art) represents a key part of the commercial activities of Tate Enterprises. We are one of the world’s leading publishers on the visual arts. We aim to bring the best new writing on art and the highest quality reproductions to the widest possible range of readers. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and accomplished Editorial Manager to join Tate Publishing based at Tate Britain on a full-time, permanent contract. In this primary position within the publishing team, you will be essential in overseeing the implementation of Tate Publishing’s critical path and adhering to it; ensuring that Tate’s published books are delivered on time, to budget and to specification. Ideally you will have worked in a museum, gallery or similar cultural environment before and have great experience of managing the processes of an illustrated book publishing list in a commercial environment.

We are looking for an innovative, creative and organised Editorial Manager with proven effective leadership skills as well as a robust, dogged and pragmatic approach needed to ensure that projects stay on track.

To be successful, you will demonstrate excellent communication and collaborative skills and have experience of working on a number of books simultaneously as well as be familiar with negotiating contracts and royalties.
