Tate’s Collection Care Division is responsible for ensuring that collections are available and accessible to the public. Its operations embrace the management, research, care and conservation of the art, archive and library collections supporting Tate’s mission to promote public understanding and enjoyment of British, modern and contemporary art.

Tate aims to acquire art works of outstanding quality in all the areas for which it is responsible and, as part of the Registrar team, you will be involved in this acquisitions process from start to finish. You will assist in the coordination of national and international acquisitions to Tate, including their preparation, packing, transport and insurance, adhering to national and international museum standards. Liaison with external stakeholders and Tate staff is a significant part of the role.

You will have proven experience of registrarial work with a museum collection including experience of loans, acquisitions and collection documentation. In addition you will have knowledge of national museum standards for transportation, handling, packing and storing works. We will also be looking for the ability to document collection processes, an understanding of British government indemnity and customs procedures, and a communicative and flexible approach under pressure.
