The V&A Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green is part of the V&A family of museums and holds in trust for society the nation’s finest and largest childhood collections. We welcome around 450,000 visitors every year to our inspiring exhibitions, learning programme and special events.
We are seeking a talented, knowledgeable and experienced Curator to join the Collections Team at the Museum of Childhood, Bethnal Green. This demanding position involves sharing responsibility for the Museum’s collections, as well as exhibition and display work. You will play an important role in the Museum’s proposed capital redevelopment plan.
You must be educated to degree level with experience in all aspects of collections management. A knowledge of some aspect of the history of childhood and/or art and design for children is essential. You must have proven experience of managing projects. Experience and knowledge of interpreting objects and narratives for the general public is key to this role. You must have proven communication and negotiation skills, as well as proficiency in computer programmes, including the use of museum or gallery databases.
