Biotopia – Naturkundemuseum Bayern

Work with us to reinvent the natural history museum for the biological century in Munich.

At a time when, on the one hand, we are facing unprecedented environmental challenges, and on the other hand we are experiencing revolutionary developments in the life sciences, it is more important than ever to invite the public into a new kind of conversation about the future of life on our planet.

Nurturing human curiosity, inspiring cross-species empathy, and stimulating personal agency in response to key environmental challenges, BIOTOPIA will be a new kind of museum and forum where visitors are invited to “explore life”.

Situated in the exceptional setting of Nymphenburg Palace in Munich, adjacent to the 200 hectare Schlosspark and Munich’s botanical gardens, Biotopia: Naturkundemuseum Bayern is being developed through a major investment of €95 million from the Free State of Bavaria and additional private support, at the heart of a Bavaria-wide network of natural history museums and other key institutions focussed on environment and life sciences.

BIOTOPIA is currently seeking to identify an outstanding creative leader as BIOTOPIA’s Head of Exhibitions, Research and Public Programmes.
