Head of International Touring Exhibitions
The British Museum is looking to recruit a Head of International Touring Exhibitions to manage the development, marketing and delivery of the Museum’s international touring exhibitions, with the focus on the growth of the activity and the opportunity to generate a substantial financial contribution for the Museum.
The post holder will ensure the Museum is developing exceptionally high-quality exhibitions that meet the needs and expectations of its international partners and audiences. You will implement agreed strategies and conduct an ongoing assessment of future market potential to ensure long-term growth. You will manage the international programme overseeing budgets and business cases for exhibitions and ensuring the international programme is delivered with high standards of professionalism with diplomacy and tact.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent with experience of working on exhibitions and a professional, efficient and commercial approach. You will be experienced in project management, including responsibility for substantial budgets, and will be able to communicate efficiently at all levels across an organisation – interacting with both internal and external stakeholders. You will be able to manage cross-functional teams against challenging timetables and budgets.
