The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is seeking applications to fill the position of Temporary Exhibitions Research Specialist to focus on bibliographic research, background writing and editing and developing checklists needed to prepare for a major traveling exhibition of 21st Century art. The successful candidate will work with the Curator(s) and Exhibitions staff to compete additional duties, as assigned to support the project.
This is a temporary hourly/wage position schedule to work no more than 29 hours/week and is limited to the duration of the exhibition, which is approximately three (3) years.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in contemporary art, material culture and/or American studies. Ability to complete bibliographic and background research, writing assignments and familiarity with working in an exhibition environment.
