Julia Morandeira Appointed as Director of Study at Museo Reina Sofía

Julia Morandeira (Bilbao, 1986) has been appointed as the new Director of Study at the Museo Reina Sofía.

Selection Process Overview

The selection process commenced on June 1st. Calls for applications were published in the B.O.E. and on the Museum’s website for several key positions: Director of the Institutional Cabinet, Director of Communications, and Director of Study at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.

Ensuring Transparency and Competitiveness

This process was designed to ensure transparency and competitiveness. It adhered to the principles of merit and capability and used criteria of suitability to evaluate candidates.

Final Appointment

Upon the conclusion of the selection process, the Museum’s director, Manuel Segade, proposed the appointment of Julia Morandeira to the Standing Committee of the Royal Board of Trustees. This proposal was made in accordance with article 9.2.ñ of the MNCARS Statute.

Julia Morandeira’s extensive experience and expertise will be a valuable addition to the Museo Reina Sofía, as she takes on the role of Director of Study.
