Powerhouse Arts has appointed Liz Munsell as Vice President of Curatorial and Arts Programs, a senior leadership role focused on shaping the organization’s exhibitions and public programming. Based in Brooklyn, Powerhouse Arts operates as a hub for arts fabrication and community engagement, supporting a wide network of artists, educators, and cultural workers.
Munsell will work closely with President Eric Shiner and the leadership team to develop major exhibitions, expand educational initiatives, and oversee programming tied to residencies, subsidies, and institutional partnerships. Her role also emphasizes increasing public access and deepening community connections through the arts.
She joins Powerhouse Arts after nearly two decades in museum leadership, bringing experience in curatorial practice alongside a focus on institutional change. A co-founder of Museums Moving Forward, Munsell has been active in efforts to improve equity and working conditions across the museum sector.
At Powerhouse Arts, she will lead the development of a new exhibitions program that highlights the organization’s production-based model, aiming to make artistic processes more visible and accessible to broader audiences.
