May Makki Appointed Associate Curator at Storefront for Art and Architecture

Storefront has announced the appointment of May Makki as its new Associate Curator. Working alongside the organisation’s curatorial team, Makki will help develop its next programmatic cycle.

The appointment follows a rigorous selection process led by Storefront’s curatorial leadership, Board of Directors and external advisors.

Most recently, Makki served as Co-Curator of the Third Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale in 2026. She was previously part of the curatorial teams at the Museum of Modern Art’s Department of Media and Performance and Abrons Arts Center. She has also held research positions at MoMA PS1 and the Wallach Art Gallery at Columbia University.
