Perrotin Appoints Rowena Chiu as Director of Its New London Gallery

#Appointment

Perrotin has named Rowena Chiu as the director of its newly opened London gallery, located inside Claridge’s in Mayfair. The 353-square-metre space launched in March, marking the gallery’s first UK outpost.

Chiu joins Perrotin after four years at Stephen Friedman Gallery, where she led museum and institutional relations. There, she developed institutional partnerships and worked closely with artists such as Izumi Kato and Yinka Shonibare. Before that, she spent six years with Hauser & Wirth, working across its London, Zurich, and New York locations.

Founded in 1990 by Emmanuel Perrotin, the gallery is known for representing leading international artists and estates including Takashi Murakami, JR, Maurizio Cattelan, Daniel Arsham, Sophie Calle, and Iván Argote. With Chiu’s appointment, Perrotin strengthens its presence in London’s competitive gallery landscape, adding to its network of spaces in Paris, Hong Kong, New York, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Los Angeles.
