Rebekka Seubert appointed director of the Ludwig Forum for International Art, Aachen

Rebekka Seubert has been named the next director of the Ludwig Forum for International Art in Aachen, Germany.

After studying art and cultural sciences in Hamburg, Brussels, Clermont-Ferrand, and Regensburg, Seubert began her curatorial career as an assistant at Portikus in Frankfurt and the Bonner Kunstverein in Bonn. She has also taught at the HFBK in Hamburg and initiated a series of exhibitions at the Warburg House there.

Since 2020, Seubert has served as artistic director of the Dortmunder Kunstverein, where she has overseen around 25 new productions with artists including Lucy Raven, George Adéagbo, Brice Dellsperger, and Mariana Castillo Deball.

‘I am very excited about the challenge of leading the Ludwig Forum into its next chapter and shaping this journey together with the team, the Friends of the museum, and the local community,’ Seubert said in a statement. ‘My goal is to use art to bring people from the city and beyond into dialogue and to inspire them.’

Seubert will take up her new role on 1 March 2026.
