Trevor Paglen to Co-Curate Art Basel’s Zero 10
#announcement #Appointed curator #Art BaselTrevor Paglen has been announced as co-curator of Zero 10 at Art Basel in Basel alongside digital art strategist Eli Scheinman. The initiative, dedicated to art shaped by digital culture, will make its Swiss debut during Art Basel 2026 following previous editions in Miami Beach and Hong Kong.
Presented in the Event Hall on Messeplatz from 17–21 June 2026, Zero 10 will feature its largest edition to date, bringing together 20 exhibitors working across digital, generative, media, and computational art practices. Curated around the theme The Condition, the programme explores life shaped by artificial intelligence, digital imagery, and computational systems.
Participating galleries and organisations include Hauser & Wirth, Marian Goodman Gallery, Esther Schipper, Sprüth Magers, and HEK (Haus der Elektronischen Künste). Featured artists include Hito Steyerl, Andreas Gursky, Vera Molnár, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, and Ryoji Ikeda.
Highlights include large-scale installations exploring ecology, surveillance, AI, blockchain systems, and climate crisis, alongside a public programme of conversations addressing labour, authorship, and algorithmic culture in contemporary art.
