Waheeda Baloch Appointed as First Woman Curator of Karachi Biennale KB24
Karachi Biennale Trust proudly presents Waheeda Baloch as the curator of the fourth Karachi Biennale KB24, making history as the first woman to take on this role.
A Prominent Voice in Art
Waheeda Baloch, originally from Mirpurkhas, Sindh, a region with a rich artistic heritage, brings her family’s literary background and her own experiences as an art educator and performance artist to her curatorial practice.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Curation from Stockholm University, Sweden, and has a Master’s in Fine Arts from Sindh University. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Art and Design, Sindh University, while pursuing her PhD at the University of Bonn, Germany.
Waheeda Baloch is the Founder Curator of ArtFest Karachi, hosted at the Sambara Art Gallery. Her portfolio also includes numerous national and international exhibitions and a passion for discussions related to art history and theory.
