The Director of the Paulista Museum of the University of São Paulo, in accordance with legal provisions (Resolution No. 8241/2022) and using the Museum’s own research funds, hereby announces this call for applications for the selection of 2 postdoctoral fellows to work in the Collections and Curatorship Division (DAC) of the Museum, developing research projects focused on studying the Museum’s collections.
1. Fellowship Amount
- Monthly gross stipend: R$ 8,799.86
- Duration: 24 months
- No renewal possible
2. Fellowship Conditions
- Payment is conditional upon admission to USP’s Postdoctoral Program.
- Fellows must sign:

3. Activities
Mandatory:
- Conduct research on collections and contribute to:
- The Museum’s online catalog
- Existing documentation
- Supervise an undergraduate trainee
- Submit:
- Partial report
- Final report (eligible for publication)
Additional (at least one required):
- Present at the lecture series “Meeting with Research”
- Organize a collection catalog
- Act as assistant curator in exhibitions
- Develop digital curation of collection items
- Work is supervised by a faculty member.
- Fellows must allow USP to reproduce and publicly share research results.
4. Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Hold a PhD in History or related fields (e.g., Anthropology, Architecture, Arts, Design, Education, Geography, Museology, Sociology, etc.)
- Have a recognized degree (foreign degrees subject to approval)
- Provide:
- Institutional leave authorization (if employed)
- Open to Brazilian and international applicants
- Foreign applicants must obtain:
- Research visa
- Residence authorization
- National Migration Registration (CRNM)
- Indicate a supervisor and explain project relevance to Museum collections
- Submit complete documentation
- Submit only one project per edition
5. Applications

6. Selection Process
- Applications reviewed by an academic committee.
Evaluation stages:
- Eligibility screening
- Merit evaluation, based on:
- Scientific quality and relevance
- Methodological rigor
- Feasibility and timeline
- Scores: 0–10
- Results published on the Museum website
- Appeals allowed via email
7. Fellows’ Obligations
- Work 40 hours/week
- Maintain active postdoc registration at USP
- Submit:
- Partial report (after 1 year)
- Final report (within 60 days after completion)
- Comply with USP regulations
8. Extension
- No extension allowed
9. Accountability
Within 90 days after completion:
- Submit final activity report and approval
Failure to comply:
- May result in ineligibility for future funding
10. Termination
Fellowship may be terminated:
- At request of fellow or supervisor
- For:
- Failure to submit reports
- Ethical violations
In such cases, full repayment may be required.
11. General Provisions
- Fellows must be registered in USP’s Atena system
- Copyright responsibilities lie with the researcher
