2012 Curatorial Open Call. Allegra LaViola Gallery

 

Deadline: August 30, 2012.
We invite curators and artists alike to submit exhibition proposals for a 4-6 week show in our Project Space during the fall of 2012. The Project Space is on the lower level of the gallery and features built-in fluorescent lighting, 8’5” high ceilings, and the ability to totally control the lighting for video work. Please see below for the floor plan of the space and examples of past installations. Chosen applicants will receive a $100 stipend for exhibition related materials, as well as having 250 postcards printed by the gallery for the exhibition, an opening party, and full support of the gallery in promotion.

About the gallery: Allegra LaViola Gallery is located in Lower East Side of Manhattan. The Gallery’s focus is both established and emerging artists, with an emphasis on painting, installation and performance related work. Allegra LaViola Gallery is interested in promoting the fullness of the artist’s vision, and has been host to a variety of conceptual projects and installations, including performance series and one-night events.

Submission Requirements
Due August 30th, 2012

Curatorial Statement: Please submit a statement, no more than 200 words, describing the concept for the project, artist(s) and works submitted (word document or PDF).
CV /Resume: No more than 300 words highlighting previous curatorial efforts (word document or PDF).
Images: Please submit up to 5 JPEG images, no more than 10” wide and 72 dpi.

Application Fee: A non-refundable fee of $75 is due upon submission and can be submitted by clicking the icon below.
