Assistant Curator

Deadline: 4pm Thursday February 25, 2016.
Interviews: Friday March 4, at Perry Green, East Hertfordshire.
The Assistant Curator will join the Foundation at an exciting time as we enter our next dynamic phase of development following the recent appointment of Director, Godfrey Worsdale, and Head of Henry Moore Collections & Exhibitions, Sebastiano Barassi. This year also sees the opening of our new archive and visitor facilities at Henry Moore Studios & Gardens, Perry Green, East Hertfordshire.
Working closely with a small and dynamic team of curatorial, registrarial and conservation staff, the Assistant Curator will contribute to the organisation of exhibitions, publications and events at Perry Green and throughout the world. The post-holder will be the initial contact for all authentication enquiries relating to the attribution of works by Henry Moore, carrying out relevant research and assisting with Authentication Panel administration.
With a degree in the history of art or museum studies, the successful candidate will bring at least two years’ experience in a museum or gallery environment, ideally gained in a role working with art collections and/or exhibition organisation. The post-holder will have a strong visual sense and excellent writing and proofreading skills. Great flexibility and willingness to travel are essential. Fluency in a foreign language would be an advantage.
If you are interested in this position and, having read the job specification, you have the credentials to meet the requirements of the role, we would be delighted to receive an application from you. A recruitment pack and application form are available via the link in the right-hand menu.
