Acquisitions Programme Coordinator at Tate

Organisation: Tate
Location: Tate Britain, London, UK, with regular time at Tate Modern and Tate Stores
Salary: £33,193 per year
Contract: Permanent, full-time, 36 hours per week
Application deadline: Sunday 11 October 2026, midnight

Tate is seeking an Acquisitions Programme Coordinator to help bring new works into its collection. Working with the Acquisitions Programme Manager and Director of Collection, the postholder will coordinate acquisition cases from initial proposal through to accessioning, collaborating with colleagues across curatorial, registration, conservation, development, finance, legal and copyright teams.

Responsibilities

The coordinator will prepare agendas and papers for Tate’s Collection Group and Collection Committee, record decisions and follow up on actions. They will gather documentation for acquisition cases, including curatorial texts, transport information and financial statements, and maintain accurate records and collection database entries.

The role also involves coordinating with registrars, conservators and curators as works become ready for collection; overseeing image updates to Tate’s website; and helping develop training on the acquisitions process. The postholder will process invoices, track commitments and reconcile financial records with the Finance team. They will also support strategic and advocacy work, particularly around diversity and inclusion.

Candidate profile

Tate seeks someone interested in developing a career in collections, with strong administrative, organisational and communication skills. Applicants should be able to manage competing priorities, work accurately with budgets and financial information, and build effective relationships across teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected; experience with databases or collections management systems is an advantage. Tate welcomes transferable skills and encourages candidates to apply even if they do not meet every requirement.
