JEALOUS, established in 2008 by Dario Illari and Jacquie Ryle, is a prominent fine art print publisher and studio. Located in East London’s Shoreditch, it boasts a physical gallery space. The organization supports both established and emerging artists through its exhibition and publishing programs. Collaborating with artists and major galleries, JEALOUS uses various print techniques to bring artist projects to life. Its works feature in collections at prestigious museums like the Victoria and Albert Museum, The British Museum, and the Whitworth in Manchester.
Administrative Assistant Position
JEALOUS is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant for its Shoreditch art gallery. The role calls for a focused, enthusiastic individual with excellent attention to detail. Responsibilities include supporting the gallery team, ensuring high organizational and communication standards, and working under pressure. The ideal candidate will work independently to complete tasks and support the Gallery Manager.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum 1 year of administrative experience.
- Exceptional skills in administration, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Strong numerical, customer service, and communication abilities.
- Proactive, flexible approach to job responsibilities.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a high-pressure environment.
- Attention to detail and capability to meet tight deadlines without quality compromise.
Desirable:
- Experience in an art environment.
- Knowledge of Orderwise or other CRM systems.
- Familiarity with Own Art scheme, invoicing, accounts, and shipping logistics.
- Client relationship management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- General administrative tasks: Invoice creation, email monitoring, order shipping, trade relationship management.
- Financial tasks: Updating systems, monitoring payments, creating sales reports.
- General support: Front of house duties, assisting with art fairs, framing guidance.
Work Conditions
- Permanent contract.
- Salary: £25,000 (negotiable based on experience).
- Work hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 10:00am – 6:00pm.
- Notice period: 1 month.
- Probation: 1 month.
- Occasional evening, weekend work, and travel, compensated with overtime pay.
