Eligibility: UK registered charities, CIOs, CICs, or exempt charities

The Ampersand Foundation’s Annual Grants programme supports a wide range of visual arts projects in the UK, including exhibitions, artist commissions, residencies, public collection enhancement, collection care and educational initiatives. Projects must be free to the public at least one day per week. Capital projects and core costs are not eligible.

Funding Format

One funding cycle per year
Expression of Interest required (Phase 1)
Selected applicants invited to submit full proposal (Phase 2)
Funds awarded in November 2025

Eligibility Criteria

Only UK-registered charities, CIOs, CICs or exempt charities
Projects must be delivered in the UK
Applicant organisations must have a safeguarding policy
Individuals are not eligible

Application Timeline

9 June 2025: Phase 1 opens (Expression of Interest)
4 July 2025 (6pm BST): Phase 1 deadline
15 August 2025: Notification of outcome (Phase 1)
18 August – 26 September 2025 (6pm BST): Phase 2 open for full applications
Mid-November 2025: Final funding decisions
