Komplot invites applications for a 3-month Archival Research Residency aimed at curators, researchers, or artists with an interest in archives, contemporary art, and bottom-up art institutions. The residency offers an opportunity to engage deeply with Komplot’s nearly 25-year archive and contribute to its reflection ahead of its 25th anniversary in 2027.
Residency Format
- Duration: October to December 2025
- Commitment: Flexible (approx. 1 day/week recommended)
- Languages: English, French, or Dutch (note: archive materials largely in French)
- Location: Brussels-based applicants preferred; no accommodation covered
Support Provided
- Resident fee: €1,500 (incl. VAT)
- Production budget: €500 (incl. VAT)
- Access: Full access to Komplot’s digital and physical archives
- Integration: Resident becomes part of the curatorial team during the period
- Mentorship: Three feedback sessions with the team and external advisors
- Visibility: Promotion through Komplot’s platforms and publication on their website
Outcome Expectations
- A public moment at Komplot (format and timing to be defined)
- A written outcome (format flexible)
- A contribution to Komplot’s 25th anniversary in 2027
Eligibility Criteria
- Curators/researchers/artists with a practice related to archives or self-organised institutions
- Preferably based in Brussels, but strong non-local applications will be considered
