Arnolfini seeks Exhibitions Producer

Role: Exhibitions Producer
Responsible to: Head of Programme/ Executive Director Contract: Permanent
Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 FTE per annum
Hours: 1 FTE, 40 hours per week


PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To support and develop Arnolfini’s visual arts programme through the delivery of a wide range of curatorial and programme production related practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Programme

  • Contribute concepts and ideas for Programme consideration

Undertake, support and advise on all curatorial requirements for exhibitions or expanded programming

  • Identify potential funding streams for exhibitions
  • Formulate exhibitions plans and project management strategies
  • Research potential exhibitions, considering viability for Arnolfini
  • Coordinate loan requests and management, including freight, insurance, and condition checking
  • Maintain exhibition files and records, including risk assessments
  • Coordinate install and production logistics, managing contractors where necessary
  • Lead and support the production of exhibition interpretation materials
  • Contributing to effective financial management of exhibition budgets
  • Assist with the production of exhibition guides and catalogues

Finance and performance

  • Oversee the effective financial management of restricted programme budgets and maintaining regular communication with the finance team and senior management team on financial performance including, project cash flows and programme expenditure.

Communications and Evaluation

  • Work closely with the communications team to ensure that audience development objectives for the programme are met and that suitable planning processes are in place to ensure that information can be gathered and shared with the comms team for effective marketing and communications;
  • Ensure that Arnolfini’s reporting commitments to funders and stakeholders are met through the collation and documentation of data.

  • Excellent knowledge of contemporary arts practice across a range of art forms related to Arnolfini’s historic and future cultural production needs.
  • Strong sector relationships locally, nationally and internationally.
  • Demonstrable success in producing ambitious artistic and/or collaborative projects within a publicly funded context.
  • Evidence of commitment to collaborative working and proven track record in at least one specific areas of artistic or socially engaged/collaborative practice relevant to Arnolfini’s future mission.

  • Evidence of an imaginative approach to creating impact through artistic projects, taking account of audience, site, context.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The salary is offered at £25,000 – £28,000 per annum Standard Arnolfini terms and conditions will apply. This is a full time post at 40 hours a week. Evening and weekend work will be required.

Annual leave entitlement will be 32 days per annum (pro rata), inclusive of statutory holidays.

Pension: Arnolfini operates a pension scheme which employees are entitled to join having completed 3-months employment. Arnolfini currently contributes 4% of salary.
