AICA-USA is launching the Art Critic Fellowship Program in 2025, aimed at supporting emerging art writers through mentorship, professional development workshops, and publication opportunities. The program is designed to foster critical writing within the arts, reflecting AICA-USA’s commitment to enriching art criticism and expanding its impact within the arts ecosystem.
Key Features of the Program:
- Duration: January 6 – March 7, 2025
- Mentorship: Fellows will meet with experienced mentors and receive guidance in developing their writing skills.
- Lectures: Four virtual lectures led by award-winning editors and writers, covering key topics in contemporary art criticism.
- Publication: Fellows will produce a piece of criticism for publication on the AICA-USA website.
- Stipend: $750 to cover potential lost wages, plus $250 for their work upon publication.
Eligibility:
- Must be 18 years or older and reside in the United States or Puerto Rico.
- Open to students, with the program designed to fit between academic semesters.
- Applicants with an interest in visual arts, writing, criticism, art history, or contemporary culture are encouraged to apply.
