Job Overview
The artist liaison role is responsible for initiating, developing and supporting a specific group of artist relationships within the gallery. You will be involved in every aspect of planning and organising gallery exhibitions across spaces in London, Berlin and New York for your designated artists, as well as acting as the main point of contact for the artist and their studio.
The position sits within the exhibitions team which is made up of two other artist liaisons and an exhibition’s team assistant.
Key Responsibilities/Tasks:
(Duties include but are not limited to the following)
- Support represented artists on a daily basis
- Oversee and manage all aspects of exhibition planning
- Driving and developing the gallery exhibition programme and date planning with the rest of the team and the directors
- Develop new artist relationships
- Foster relationships with public institutions and external curators
- Project manage gallery publications for relevant artists and liaise with designers and publishers
- Draft and adhere to exhibition budgets
- Oversee and review artist account statements
- Liaise with sales team about availability of works and background information
- Research, develop and present new solo and group exhibition and projects.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art History or Curating
- 3-5 years previous experience in a museum or gallery environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Foreign languages an advantage
- Comfortable in working within budgets
- Experience of working with an artist’s estate an advantage
