Job Overview
The Artist Liaison acts as the main contact for gallery artists and their studios. Responsibilities include establishing strong artist relationships, negotiating terms, selecting and procuring artworks, managing inventory, and supporting production. The role also involves coordinating exhibitions, managing budgets, and building institutional networks to aid artist career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain direct communication with artists, offering necessary support
- Oversee exhibition logistics, including artwork delivery, installation, and promotion
- Contribute to marketing strategies to enhance artist visibility
- Collaborate on exhibition, event, and project planning
- Handle artist contracts and ensure compliance with legal standards
- Research art market trends for strategic planning
- Represent the gallery at art events and fairs, networking with key industry figures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Art History, Fine Arts, etc.)
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an art gallery
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in Turkish and Business English; additional languages are a plus
- Familiarity with artwork production and complex project management
- Proficiency in Mac, Microsoft Office, and art databases (Artlogic, Artnet, etc.)
- Availability for evening and weekend work during events and openings
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
