The Currier Museum of Art seeks a full-time Artist Programs Coordinator, reporting to the Curator of Contemporary Art. The Artist Programs Coordinator works closely with the Curator of Contemporary Art on artist projects and exhibitions, especially those relating to the Artist-in-Residence program (AIR). The AIR program allows artists to visit the Currier Museum of Art for varying periods to create work, interact with community and staff, respond to the collection and the environment, and create projects in the museum and in the region, including a dedicated program in the nearby city of Nashua.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong sense of multifaced collaboration, with the ability to build community and connect multiple stakeholders around a project or idea
  • Project management skills, especially an understanding of nurturing creative talent
  • Detail oriented, able to organize multiple projects at different stages of development simultaneously
  • Experience working closely with artists. Familiarity with contemporary practice, especially conceptual art. Familiarity with art materials and instructional practice.
  • Previous community outreach work a plus.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, creative, and able to work well on a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including editing skills
  • Strict adherence to professional ethics
  • Degree in art, art history, art education, museum studies, community development, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Google Drive, and database software such as Embark
