Artist Residency
Are you an emerging artist under 35 looking to immerse yourself in a supportive and inspiring environment?
CAPITÃO Artist Residency invites you to apply for our upcoming two-week creative retreat in São Marcos do Campo, Reguengos de Monsaraz, Alentejo, Portugal.
The residency offers a unique opportunity for artists to develop their original projects amidst the tranquil beauty of the Alentejo region. Designed to foster artistic growth through research and collaboration, CAPITÃO provides a supportive setting that facilitates engaging and thought-provoking discussions among residents. This dynamic exchange aims to build a vibrant network of artists, curators, and academics.
Four artists will be selected and invited to Alentejo and will have the opportunity to develop their own original project. Sharing and exchange between participants and professionals are facilitated by an intensive program of round tables and individual meetings.
What We Offer:
- Studio space, food, and housing. Private room and bathroom in a shared house. Artists are responsible for all other expenses, including travel and any other costs related to the production and shipping of their work.
- Mentorship and guidance sessions.

- Opportunities for public exhibitions and open studios.
Eligibility:
The organisation welcomes emerging artists under 35 from all countries and disciplines. Diversity and innovation in creative practice are highly valued.
