Leading the delivery of the artistic vision for Tate St Ives you will direct and lead the gallery’s curatorial and learning teams to deliver a distinguished and imaginative public programme which appeals to our target audiences and enhances the reputation of Tate St Ives for quality and accessibility. You will play a key role with the Executive Director in setting the strategic direction and business plan for Tate St Ives and represent Tate St Ives effectively to artists, collectors and institutions in Cornwall and the South West, also nationally and internationally.
In order to succeed, you will be an inspirational, inclusive and creative leader with a distinguished track record as a curator of modern and contemporary art and a deep commitment to, and understanding of learning programmes. You will need a post-graduate qualification in art history (or equivalent experience) and be committed to developing quality programmes that are commercially viable and sensitive to, and inclusive of, our audiences., Crucially you must be adept at managing and creating high performing teams and have a real desire to work collaboratively with the team at Tate St Ives and colleagues across Tate.
