Transitional Justice with Artists Grant

This open call invites practicing artists, cultural practitioners, or key members of initiatives working with communities affected by human rights violations to apply for the Transitional Justice with Artists (TJA) Grant. The program supports initiatives that employ artistic methods to address legacies of injustice, including truth-finding, memorialization, repair, and institutional reform.
The program provides six €10,000 grants and a six-month fellowship, including a seven-day residency in Amsterdam, participation in thematic online meetings, and a published feature in the street newspaper Arts of the Working Class. Fellows join an international network of socially engaged artists and receive support to advance justice-oriented cultural practices.
Programme Format

Six-month fellowship (Cohort 1: Jul–Dec 2026 | Cohort 2: May–Oct 2027)

€10,000 per fellow (€9,000 unrestricted + €1,000 travel/residency)

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:

Be legal residents of an EU Member State or Creative Europe-associated countries (Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Tunisia, Ukraine)

Be practicing artists, cultural practitioners, or key members of artistic initiatives operational for at least two years

Demonstrate meaningful community engagement, accountability, and transparency

Be available to participate in all components, including the residency and publication activities
