About the Role
The Arts Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate on transformative initiatives within the vibrant world of the arts. As a key member of the team, you will closely collaborate with the Head of Arts to bring to life a diverse range of projects across our four dynamic global programs: Culture Connects, Spotlights on Culture, Creative Economy, and Arts Responds to Global Challenges.
Your responsibilities may include leading a dedicated local team, nurturing strong relationships with sector partners and stakeholders, and forging connections with like-minded professionals across the global arts network. Main Responsibilities
- Utilize your knowledge of the country’s arts and creative industries, along with insights from sector partners, to support the implementation of global arts programs that align with the country’s specific needs and provide value to UK arts and creative industry organizations.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of UK arts and creative industry sector priorities through ongoing relationships with global arts colleagues.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration between the UK Arts sector and peers in the country.
- Provide specialized input and design to ensure that activities under the Arts global programs are relevant to the country’s Arts and creative industry sectors.
- Collaborate actively with colleagues in Arts global teams on programs.
- Employ digital platforms and technological advancements to enhance the efficiency, impact, and quality of activity design and delivery.
- Contribute to the planning process for the country’s arts portfolio within the region.
- Foster internal relationships across Cultural Engagement to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Evaluate the role of digital products, services, and channels in optimizing the portfolio’s impact and sustainability, collaborating with regional marketing and digital colleagues.
- Maintain partner relationships relevant to the Arts and wider cultural sectors to stay informed about key themes and issues in the arts and creative industries.
- Build and maintain a diverse network of key creative and cultural sector representatives in the country.
- Represent the British Council both externally and internally.
- Promote the diversity of the UK arts and creative industries sector in the country.
- Ensure clear communication of the British Council’s value proposition and support to the UK arts sector in the country.
- Uphold the British Council’s reputation for quality and as a valued not-for-profit partner.
- Tailor activities under the Arts global programs to the specific needs of the country through collaboration with colleagues in globally dispersed program teams.
- Manage finances of small projects and activities in the Arts portfolio, promptly flagging any issues.
- Manage and escalate issues with internal and external partners and stakeholders when necessary.
Role Requirements
- Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends and practices in at least one sector of the arts and creative industries in the country.
- Experience in working on national arts and creative industry projects.
- Technical, technological, or university-related studies.
- C1 English and C1 Spanish or equivalent proficiency.

- Salary: 32,621 MXN
