The Ursula Hauser Collection is one of the most important private collections for modern and contemporary art, with a particular focus on women artists. Since the 1980s, Ursula Hauser has built an outstanding international collection that is lent worldwide and serves as a key resource for scholars and art professionals. As part of a succession plan, the Collection is seeking an engaged Assistant Collection Manager starting January 1, 2026, ideally with onboarding in December 2025.

Employment Details

Responsibilities

  • Collection Care: Inventory management, condition checks, database maintenance, coordination of restorations and photography, organization of acquisitions and sales.
  • Archive: Maintenance of physical and digital archives, library care, research, documentation and certificates, support for Catalogue Raisonné projects.
  • Loans: Preparation of condition reports, image materials, catalogue editing, supervision of external loans.
  • Exhibitions & Events: Organize and support internal exhibitions, tours, and events; preparation of exhibition materials.
  • Database & App: Maintain the collection database, Collection App, and digital image archive.
  • Communication: Manage the collection’s website and Instagram account.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in art history or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of professional experience in collection management or as a registrar.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign & Photoshop, collection databases, Apple environment).
  • Fluent in German and English, written and spoken.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism in interactions with internal and external contacts.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements.
