Assistant Collections Registrar – ARTIST ROOMS

ARTIST ROOMS is a touring collection of international modern and contemporary art, jointly owned by Tate and the National Galleries of Scotland, presented across the UK. The Assistant Collections Registrar will support and coordinate all aspects of collection management, including loans out, long-term loans in, documentation, movement, and information management, ensuring compliance with museum standards and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and coordination of ARTIST ROOMS collection across Tate and NGS venues
- Oversee registrarial procedures for incoming and outgoing loans
- Support documentation, collection information management, and object handling
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners
- Travel regularly to Edinburgh and other partner venues
- Contribute to the development of collection management strategies aligned with the The Art Works initiative
Candidate Profile
- Experience working in a museum environment, particularly in collection or registry management
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent teamworking, communication, and collaborative approach
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
- Flexible and positive approach to travel and multi-site coordination
