Job Description
We are currently seeking applicants for a short-term contract of less than 12 months.
Responsibilities
As the Assistant Curator at M+ Museum, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing content for interdisciplinary learning programs and experiences tailored to diverse audiences, focusing on visual art, design, architecture, and moving image.
- Managing the operation and logistics of a wide range of public programs, including workshops, in-gallery activities, talks, courses, and performances.
- Collaborating closely with educators, artists, and creatives from various disciplines to align programs with the institution’s goals and values.
- Conducting research in fields such as learning and teaching pedagogy, visual culture learning, educator development, in-gallery learning experiences, and outreach strategies to enhance museum audience participation.
- Assisting in the long-term planning of public programs to expand engagement for diverse visitors.
- Providing administrative support to the Learning and Interpretation team during events and activities.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you should:
- Hold a recognized university degree, preferably in fields such as Museum Education, Museum Studies, Cultural Studies, Fine Arts, Design, Architecture, Moving Images, Creative Media, Cultural Management, Humanities, or equivalent.
- Have a minimum of 4 years of experience in developing, planning, and implementing learning programs for the general public, preferably within an arts and cultural organization.
- Possess administrative experience, particularly in project management in arts and cultural organizations.
- Demonstrate strong project coordination, research, and interpersonal skills.
- Be self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exhibit an open-minded, highly-organized, and detail-oriented approach.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Chinese.
