FOTO ARSENAL WIEN (FAW) is the center for photographic images and lens-based media in Austria. As an inclusive and open place, it makes photography in all its forms tangible and understandable. The international exhibition program examines photography at the interface of analog, digital and moving images. Historical and contemporary positions expand on current questions surrounding the photographic image space. The focus is on a lively approach to collective image culture in different areas of life.
Area of Responsibility
- Co-conceptualization, support in budgeting, design and art handling of temporary exhibitions in cooperation and under the direction of the artistic director
- Scientific research of exhibition topics
- Knowledge of exhibition simulation with SketchUp is an advantage
- Researching, writing, editing and proofreading of texts, websites, brochures and publications
- Assistance in the development, organization and implementation of public programs (mediation and accompanying programs) in close cooperation with the FAW education team
- Research of fundraising, funding options/subsidies in close cooperation with the team and in coordination with the management of SWK
Your Profile
- Ideally, a degree in art history, cultural studies or practical experience in designing exhibitions in the field of photography
- Knowledge in event management, cultural management or comparable qualification
- Knowledge of national and international developments in the field of photography and lens-based media
- Several years of professional experience in project management, preferably in the cultural sector desirable
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High degree of initiative, flexibility and resilience
- Passion for photography and contemporary art
- Text security and very good written and spoken German and English skills
- Confident use of common office programs, SketchUp or other 3D programs desirable
- Networking in the arts and culture sector
- Very high ability to work in a team
