V&A Dundee, Scotland’s design museum, seeks an Assistant Curator to support the research, development, and delivery of exhibitions and displays. The role covers all aspects of exhibition projects, including curatorial research, project management, registrar duties, and collaboration with designers, lenders, and institutions. The position includes leading smaller exhibitions and supporting major concurrent projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Curators on research, development, and delivery of exhibitions.
- Write and edit exhibition texts, labels, and catalogue entries; contribute to public programming.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and teams; liaise across departments.
- Handle loans, insurance, condition checks, transport, and documentation.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion; represent V&A Dundee externally.
Person Specification
- Essential: Interest in design, project and lender management experience, budget and administration skills, object care knowledge, strong organisational and communication skills, IT proficiency, team player.
- Desirable: Knowledge of contemporary design, inclusion strategies, experience writing for public audiences.
