The Royal Academy of Arts is entering a new phase of institutional development, expanding its exhibition programme and curatorial capacity. The Assistant Curator will support the development and delivery of temporary exhibitions, contributing from early research stages through to installation and completion.
Responsibilities
- Support research and conceptual development of exhibitions
- Liaise with artists, guest curators, institutions, and lenders
- Contribute to curatorial writing and exhibition interpretation
- Assist in exhibition planning, coordination, and delivery
- Maintain documentation and research on artists and artworks
- Support cross-departmental collaboration
Requirements
- Experience working in a museum or gallery environment
- Strong curatorial and art-historical research skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage professional relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Collaborative working approach
- Broad knowledge of art across periods, media, and geographies
