To strengthen its team, the Kunstverein in Hamburg is seeking a full-time Assistant Curator (m/f/d) with excellent written and spoken German skills from 1 August 2026 (a later start date is possible by arrangement).
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting and reviewing contracts (loan agreements, exhibition contracts)
- Supporting exhibition installation and deinstallation
- Managing transport and customs matters
- Preparing project funding applications
- Handling exhibition insurance and damage claims
- Maintaining regular contact with artists, supporters, members and local communities
- Creating and maintaining budgets, timelines and production schedules
- Research and writing within the exhibition context
- Responsibility for the realisation of exhibitions and projects in collaboration with the Director
- Developing the annual membership programme
- Conceiving exhibition public programmes
- Overseeing publications
- Conducting regular exhibition tours
- Coordinating the annual editions exhibition
