Assistant Curator, Samstag Museum
The University of South Australia’s Samstag Museum of Art presents a changing exhibitions program of contemporary visual art. The program is intended to be of interest and educational value to a broad public community. The Museum additionally manages the UniSA Art Collection and administers the prestigious Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarships.
About the job
This newly created position will work closely with Samstag Museum of Art staff to liaise and support guest curators and artists to develop and coordinate exhibitions and events. The role will also provide tours and educational services to Museum visitors. A significant focus of this position will be the development and presentation of the 2018 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art, in partnership with the Art Gallery of South Australia.
Skills and Experience
For this position you will have experience developing and managing visual art exhibitions in a museum or gallery setting. High-level project management, developed communication and writing skills and an ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of people in a small team environment are essential for this position.
